Any Fans of The Prisoner?
Continuing from yesterdays post… pages 3-4 of From the Minutes of a Meeting of the Anti-Gravity League.
This week, I’m posting a comic I did back in 2013, which was published, in black and white, in an anthology by Skoda Man Press, Sci-Fi San Francisco. Here are the first two pages in color. More tomorrow. Hergé references abound!http://skodaman.com/
A graphic novel by Kiara Brinkman and Sean Chiki
Now available from First Second!
In celebration of the release of our first graphic novel, we’ve made our own recording of the Strawberry Jam’s song, Doors and Walls. Click below to see the video with lyrics and guitar chords, on our YouTube channel.
We invite anyone to record their own version of Doors and Walls! If you do, post a link to your version in the comments to this video.
We are pleased to announce that the book launch for our new graphic novel, Lucy In The Sky will be hosted by our old friends, The Booksmith, in San Francisco. Support local bookstores!
Shout out to Marc Bolan/T. Rex fans…
In our forthcoming graphic novel (Lucy in the Sky), Lucy’s Mom and Lucy’s good friend, Georgianna, are both Marc Bolan fans. Lucy’s Dad prefers Bowie. Here are some snippets of art from the book.
Fun fact: the song we danced to at our wedding was “Cosmic Dancer” by T. Rex. Note Sean’s Shea Stadium jacket in the photo. He was also wearing drainpipe trousers and Beatles boots. ❤️
Lucy in the Sky is available for preorder on Amazon or through your favorite local bookstore. 😊
Did you go through a boy band phase?
Here is a quick sketch of Sean as KISS. (We’ve decided KISS counts as a boy band). Here is Kiara (in dangly earrings and NKOTB shirt) at the peak of her New Kids on the Block fandom. Favorite New Kid? Joey, of course! And, here is Lucy disillusioned by the free poster (actually an advertisement) of her favorite boy band, One For All.
Six months until pub day, so we’ll be posting more about our forthcoming book, Lucy in the Sky.
Preorder Lucy in the Sky on Amazon or at your favorite local bookstore.
