Wandering Stars
The last two months have been very busy… the end of the school year and then jumping right into our summer camp, the second week of which we have just finished! We started our camp, Wandering Stars, last summer. It’s centered on a ttrpg I created (of the same name) for younger kids. I’m now working on creating a book with the rules and an adventure scenario. It combines elements of Victorian fantasy, steampunk and traditional sword and sorcery fare, with an emphasis on problem-solving, exploration and teamwork rather then slaughtering monsters (I’ve found younger players tend to want to befriend and adopt the giant spiders rather than fight them!) Reading Tintin, a Personal View – Ep. 22 – The Red Sea Sharks, part one
A critical and personal review of each of the 24 Tintin volumes. In this episode, I review The Red Sea Sharks and give my own thoughts on the history of the book, it’s art and the context of the time it was created. In the Red Sea Sharks, Herge enters his late period of Tintin by bringing back an ensemble cast of characters from past adventures. Studios Herge are at the peak of their artistry.
